General Information - Training and courses

OBJECTIVES, CONTENTS AND STRUCTURE OF TRAINING:

For practitioners and doctors

PREREQUISITES :

For the training of therapists, it is not necessary to have prior training in the paramedical field. Any professional or pre-university degree is sufficient, since a core curriculum (anatomy, physiology, pathology, office management, etc.) is provided in the framework of the Federal Diploma (also recognized by registers such as RME, ASCA), and can be followed in parallel or after training in Ayurveda. For practitioners, a higher secondary education is advised, but not mandatory.

INTENSITY AND PROGRESS OF THE TRAINING

The training offered by SAMA can be followed alongside a professional activity, even if most of the training days take place on weekdays and not in the evenings: see schedule for practitioners and doctors. We advise the therapist not to exceed an activity rate of 60% for the COMBI module (minimum duration 3 years) and 80% for an isolated basic module, in order to have sufficient time to follow this training and to perform the required personal work. Training for practitioners and doctors is organized in the form of block courses covering whole weeks in order to be followed during holidays (see schedule).

DIPLOMA WORK :

To obtain the Federal diploma, the students are required to write a diploma work.

PERSONAL WORK :

Practical personal exercises are guided and must be documented. In addition, students receive assignments that have a specific formative character. For more details please read the School Terms and Conditions.

ORGANIZATION OF COURSES :

Since 2017 courses in Switzerland take place either in our SAMA center in Vevey or in external seminar halls. Much of the training of practitioners and doctors, including the manual treatment techniques course, which is also proposed to therapists, takes place in the form of block courses in the academy of our partner institution AVP - Arya Vaidya Pharmacy in Tamil Nadu, South India.

Course timetable: 9h00-12h30 and 13h30-17h30 (variations depending on course content) with breaks.

Full course materials are distributed for each course. They are included in the overall price of the course. Certificates of training and personal practice are given to each student for the follow-up of their studies.
