VI International conference on Ayurved for Cancer – Pune, Maharshtra 

From 9th to 11th December the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust (BSDT) and the Integrated Cancer treatment and Research Center (ICTRC) in Pune organized the 6th edition of their International Conference on Ayurveda for Cancer. 

BSDT and its ICTRC are recognized as a center for excellence in Ayurveda and oncology by the Indian government. Their experience of more than three decades in effective integrative medicine makes them an outstanding model for the practical implementation of meaningful and effective integrative medicine. 

The Integrated Cancer Treatment and Research Centre (ICTRC) under the able guidance of Prof. Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh is a one of its kind and a national reference in India. 

Besides eminent Ayurveda representatives of India with international outreach, like Vaidya Devinderji Triguna and Prof. Bhushan Patwardhan, the conference was attended by international personalities like Dr. Jeffery White (Associate Director, National Cancer Institute, USA) who was the chief guest.  

The three-day conference launched an intensive program with panel discussions and presentations by speakers from both modern and Ayurveda medicine background who presented research studies and key information related to oncology and integrative practice. 

In the session on presentations by international speakers. Dr. Simone Hunziker, President of Indo-Swiss Ayurveda Foundation presented the potentials and challenges for the development and global spread of Ayurveda as an integrative medicine.
